How RADICLE helps children and families
By providing childcare that is appropriate, affordable and sustainable working with the children, their parents and the wider community we give every child the best possible start in life, like Abdul:
2½ year old *Abdul was small for his age and ate very little. From a Bangladeshi family of six children aged under eight his parents struggled to make ends meet. Their Health Visitor suggested they bring Abdul to our Church Street Nursery and explained to them about the Educational Grant they could claim. Abdul now comes for three mornings a week and with the patience and encouragement of staff his appetite has increased and he is growing fast. When the family shop in the market Abdul can name all the fruit and vegetables and is a favourite with the stall holders. Now Abdul and all his family are eating more healthily.

How you can help
We receive support from the Local Authority for our children’s services but we need to fundraise to buy equipment and toys, to keep staff skills up to date, to produce materials and to organise outings. Your support really makes a difference.
- £50 buys educational toys and games to help children develop as they play
- £540 pays for a baby massage course to help six young mothers and babies bond and relax
- £1,260 secures a free nursery place for 12 weeks where disadvantaged parents can leave their children while they gain the skills they need to get a job
