Older people services

Last year we welcomed over 500 older people to RADICLE's two Drop-in Centres in Westminster. The centres are open Monday to Friday to anyone aged over 50 who is unemployed or retired. In addition to a freshly prepared lunch we offer advice, support and a programme of activities to promote health and well being. The people who use our Centres are mostly aged over 70, live alone and have a low income. Some have disabilities or mental health needs.

A lifeline for older people

People come for companionship, advice and emotional support as much as for the food. We help them to maintain their independence. Without our Centres many older people would have nowhere to go during the day and have to rely more heavily on overstretched social services. The Centres are established and well known in the local community and are a lifeline to all the older people who use them.

Over 20 million of the UK population are aged 50 years and over and more than a million people are aged 85 or over.
