How RADICLE helps older people

The older people who use RADICLE's Centres enjoy healthier, more active and independent lives with less dependence on statutory services, people like Barbara:

woman's face*Barbara is in her late 80’s and comes to the Drop-in Centre most days. An elegant and well-spoken woman she is painfully thin. Our staff have noticed she is showing early signs of dementia and that she often forgets to eat. So if she doesn’t come in for a couple of days the staff, or one of the other clients, will visit her at home and offer to accompany her. Once there she will chat with friends and eat a healthy meal. It’s thanks to RADICLE that Barbara stays healthy and can remain in her own home.

How you can help

We need to fundraise for additional and essential items such as repairs and maintenance, books and magazines, organising activities and outings that make the centres less like a public service and more like a front room. Your support really makes a difference.
